Who we are
Pogo Alarm is an alarm app made by [Company legal name], registered at [Registered address] ("Pogo Alarm", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information Pogo Alarm collects when you use the app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Pogo Alarm app on iOS and Android and to this website.
What we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and an email address (or the private relay email Apple/Google generates for you) to create and secure your account.
- Alarm settings and history. The alarms you set, the wake-up tasks you use, when you snooze or complete a task, and your streak — so the app can plan your mornings and show your history back to you.
- Subscription status. Whether you're on a free trial or a paid plan, and its renewal date, as reported to us by the App Store or Google Play. We never see your card details — Apple and Google handle billing directly.
- Optional profile details. If you tell Pogo Alarm your name, it's stored so Pogo can greet you by name each morning.
- Waitlist. When you join the waitlist on this website, we store your email address, when you joined, your place in line, your invite code, the invite code you arrived with (if any) and your approximate country. We use it to send you a welcome email and to tell you when Pogo Alarm launches. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
What stays on your device
Some wake-up tasks use your phone's camera or microphone. We built these to be as private as possible:
Key point
- Camera (photo and movement tasks — squats, push-ups, jumping jacks, make bed, find an object, touch grass, get sunlight): frames are analysed on your device to check the task, and the photo is deleted right after. We never upload camera images or frames unless a task explicitly says otherwise.
- Microphone (read-aloud tasks — affirmation, read a verse): only the words you say are checked against the expected text. We do not keep audio recordings.
- Screen Time / Family Controls (iOS) and usage access (Android) for Block scrolling: which apps you choose to block, and for how long, stays on your device. We don't see your app list or usage on our servers.
Notifications
Pogo Alarm asks for notification permission so alarms and reminders can reach you reliably, including when the app is closed. You can change this any time in your phone's system settings.
Analytics
We use aggregate, anonymised analytics to understand how Pogo Alarm is used and to fix problems — for example, how many alarms are set per day, or which tasks are popular. This never includes your task photos, voice recordings, or the names of apps you block.
How we use your data
- To operate the core features of the app: alarms, wake-up tasks, streaks and Block scrolling.
- To manage your account and subscription.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To improve Pogo Alarm based on aggregate usage trends.
- To communicate with you about your account, or about changes to this policy or our terms.
Sharing
We don't sell your personal data. We share limited data with service providers ("processors") who help us run pogo, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only for the purpose we specify:
- Cloud hosting, to store account and alarm data securely.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website, stores the waitlist and sends our emails.
- Crash reporting, to catch and fix bugs.
- Payment processing, handled entirely by Apple's App Store and Google Play — we receive only your subscription status, never payment details.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Pogo Alarm and its users.
Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to keep certain records for longer (for example, purchase records required by tax law) — see our account deletion page for details. We keep waitlist emails until launch and for up to 12 months after; you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). These typically include the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your data (see Delete account).
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@pogoalarm.com. We'll respond within the time required by applicable law.
Children
Pogo Alarm is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country, which may be higher — for example, under 18 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and regular reviews — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.
